Mr Holyhead will complete a 45 minute spinning session everyday as part of the charities campaign to get more people to exercise regularly.

Due to financial pressures, the charity is trying to raise £40,000, by the end of March, so that they can continue their current service to those in need.

Mr Holyhead said: "I wanted to my bit for our fundraising effort.  It's a challenge but I thought to myself, 'what better way to try and raise a few £'s than by trying to lose a few lb's on my exercise bike!"

The sponsorship that Mr Holyhead receives from this challenge will be put straight back into the charity.

It's not just Mr Holyhead that is getting involved and taking on new challenges to raise money.  Jean, aged 83 and a member of the association is taking on the Pierzip in March and planning a Skydive for later this year.

Jean says: "DBA gives me the opportunity to try things I've not tried before, so I just think 'go for it!' My children joke with me, it doesn't really matter anyway because you can't see what you're doing Mother!"

Jaya Da Costa, Fundraising Manager for the charity says: "If we can't raise the extra money we will have to cut services, as we are already stretched to the limit."
